DUDLEY Council received 111 calls about damaged trees as Storm Doris lashed the UK yesterday (Thursday).
Council green care workers had their work cut out yesterday as a trail of destruction was left across the borough.
Councillor Hilary Bills, Dudley's cabinet member for environmental services, said: “Due to yesterday’s adverse weather, we received 111 calls about damaged trees including 22 reports of trees across roads and footpaths.
"During the day our priority was to deal with those incidents which posed a danger in order to make them safe.
"We will now spend the next few days clearing the remaining damage caused by the storm.”
Storm Doris is thought to have cost the borough around £6,000 in clean-up costs.
