BLACK Country beers, ciders and ales are getting a wider audience after securing listings with a major West Midlands retailer.

Sadler’s Ales in Lye and Dudley’s Holden’s Brewery are toasting their success after signing a deal with the Midcounties Co-operative Food to see their products stocked in Co-op’s Midlands stores.

Ian King, sales director at Sadler’s Ales, said: “We’ve been working closely with The Midcounties Co-operative’s local food team who have been very supportive in helping us to introduce our products to more people in the West Midlands.

“The Midcounties Co-operative really shares our values of supporting local food and drink producers and this listing has really helped us to expand as a business and continue to increase our range of products.”

The local beers, ciders and ales deal is part of Midcounties Co-op’s ‘Best of Our Counties’ range, which will sell more than 70 new products from 25 drink producers at 43 stores across the region.

Matt Fletcher, direct sourcing manager at The Midcounties Co-operative Food, said: “We’re committed to supporting local suppliers who make fantastic food and drink products that we know people in the community will love.

“By investing in our ‘Best of Our Counties’ range we can showcase all the great products made locally in the West Midlands.”
