A BLACK Country paranormal investigator is hosting another spooky ghost hunt at one of Stourbridge's supposedly most haunted venues.

Jayne Harris, director of HD Paranormal Research Ltd, first visited The Talbot Hotel in Stourbridge High Street in April 2016 with 30 guests to conduct a paranormal investigation at the historic venue, which is more than 400 years old.

What she experienced was rather spine-chilling.

During a trip down into the shadowy cellars a disembodied groan was heard, she claims.

She told the News: "A group of six people all at the same time heard it in the exact area a man hung himself in the 1960s."

Jayne says a group of ten people also heard the sound of a baby crying in the area where a stillborn infant was allegedly buried in the cellar.

A psychic medium is also said to have seen the figure of a woman in white in Room 14 - which is believed to have been the squire's bedchamber when the hotel was a private residence.

Jayne added that the eerie figure was spotted where the ghost of a maid has reportedly been seen previously and she believes the sightings may relate to a shocking secret from the 17th century.

She explained: “The squire got his scullery maid pregnant so the story goes and she was kept in her room as soon as she started showing and when the baby was stillborn the child was buried behind the cellar walls to bury the secret.”

Jayne added: “The maid died not long after, apparently of a broken heart, and a lady in white has apparently been seen roaming the halls and in room 14 - the squire’s room."

She is now planning a return visit to The Talbot, with a medium in attendance, and is making tickets available to anyone who wishes to join in the investigation on Saturday July 1 which will include the use of night vision cameras and ouija boards - ending with a candlelit seance in the hotel's Victorian ballroom.

Shaun Melson, manager at The Talbot, said he has not experienced any ghostly goings on himself but he added: "We've had people say they've seen a female ghost here. In the Windsor Room, which in the 1930s was a gentlemen's club, we've also had psychics say they've been told to get out because no ladies were allowed in; so it'll be interesting to see what they find on July 1."
