The devastated mum of a Stourbridge DJ who died suddenly, aged just 31, has paid a heartfelt tribute to him.

Christine Goodall paid tribute to her son Adam Tombs and said his death had come as a huge shock to everyone who knew him and that he would be hugely missed.

Mr Tombs died in his sleep while at his girlfriend Kim Parton’s house in Frankley, near Birmingham, on April 15.

The cause of death is yet to be established and Mrs Goodall said she was not aware of any underlying health problems.

“Mindless” vandals caused thousands of pounds worth of damage when they broke into an adventure playground in Dudley over the weekend.

Staff at Sycamore Adventure came in this morning (Monday) to find an outdoor storage cupboard had been broken into and all 15 of the centre's go-karts left strewn all over the site.

One – which was one of four bought by the Dudley Council-owned centre thanks to a grant from Comic Relief – has been wrecked beyond repair, while several others have also been damaged.

An event to remember tragic Redditch schoolboy Callum Cartlidge and highlight controversial health care changes is being planned for this weekend.

The event, taking place in Redditch town centre this Saturday, will celebrate the life of the eight-year-old who died after suffering a cardiac arrest on March 3.

Callum lived just two minutes from Redditch's Alexandra Hospital but was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital in Worcester- a journey that took 23 minutes.

Pet owners in Larches Road and the surrounding areas are being warned by West Mercia Police to be vigilant after a cat suffered what is believed to have been a pellet gun injury.

A Redditch man has been arrested in connection with a pitch invasion during the Aston Villa v Birmingham City derby yesterday (Sunday).

The 18-year-old from Redditch was one of four arrested for pitch encroachment after the match which saw Villa beat their rivals 1-0.
