OLD Halesonians Colts came out on top after travelling to the USA and Canada to compete against rugby teams from across the world.

The Colts, made up of 10 players and coach Matt Williams, represented the UK in the first International Tropical Sevens tournament in Orlando.

The team scored 186 points in the group stages to qualify as the number one seed for final where they won the tournament to become the 2017 Champions of the Tropical Sevens.

Captain Jamie Keen said: "It was such an amazing experience not to only play in Orlando but finish of the season with a trophy and to captain this amazing squad.

Williams added: "I had a great time and these player were a pleasure to be with. It was a wicked trip that we all enjoyed. A huge thank you to Ruth Mills for doing all the paper work to enables us to travel and promote the club overseas."

The team was made up of Steven Jordon, Charles Hilliard, Luke Fenton, Benjamin Hancox, Kieran Haynes, Alexander Hunt, Cael Ho'okele Hodgson, Callum Bacciocchi, Joel Keenan and Jamie Keen.
