BELBROUGHTON cricketers have been bowled over by the newly refurbished pavilion which has been recently opened at their Hackman's Gate Lane ground.

The club obtained about £68,500 in funding to renovate the clubhouse over the close season which had required much-needed improvements.

An opening ceremony was held at earlier this month, where club president, Lady Victoria Guthrie, cut the ribbon to announce the new facilities open.

Lady Guthrie was joined by representatives from Sport England, who had provided the club a grant of £47,000, as well as Belbroughton Parish Council, the Worcestershire Cricket Board and the Worcestershire County League.

Sport England’s funds helped to replace the club’s changing rooms, toilets, disabled toilet and showers, as well as providing a new female and umpires changing room.

While the club room refurbishment project was financed by Ibstock Cory Environmental Trust and the parish council who provided a combined grant of £19,500.
