THE theft of knickers from a councillor's washing line has been described as bizarre, coming after he warned residents to be vigilant, reports sister paper The Worcester News

Kempsey district councillor David Harrison says he has reported to police that 10 pairs of his partner, Jan Fowler's underwear were stolen from the washing line in the garden of their property in Brookend Lane, overnight between April 5 and 6.

Mr Harrison said it was a strange one, coming also at a time he had written a section in his column in the local parish magazine called vigilance.
