LOVERS of a traditional tipple will be able to wet their whistles by the water at the Dudley Canal and Tunnel Trust Real Ale and Cider Festival.

The event will take place at the Trust's site on Birmingham New Road, close to the Black Country Living Museum, from Wednesday June 28 until Saturday July 1.

There will more than 40 ales, ciders and perries on offer plus hot and clod food at the canal-side Gongoozler restaurant.

There will be a wide range of familiar and unusual beers, including a selection of ales from several small breweries in East Anglia, not usually found in the Black Country plus a range of traditional ciders and perries.

Free soft drinks will be available for designated drivers.

The festival will open at 6pm on Wednesday, noon on Thursday and Friday and 11am on Sunday.

Entrance is free for all card-carrying DCTT and CAMRA members and will cost £2.50 for non-members.

Tickets are available online or on the day, for more information visit dudleycanaltrust.org.uk
