ONE of Ruth Rendell's best-selling novels will be brought to life on a Black Country stage.

A Judgement in Stone follows Eunice, a housekeeper who struggles to fit in with the wealthy family she works for.

The reason for her awkwardness, long hidden and deeply buried, leads inexorably to a terrible tale of murder in cold blood.

As the plot unravels a lifetime of deceit, despair and cover-ups are revealed, bringing with them a shocking revelation almost as grizzly as murder itself.

The star cast includes award winning TV and stage favourite Andrew Lancel best known to TV audiences for his portrayal of villainous business man Frank Foster in Coronation Street, Sophie Ward, who played Dr Helen Trent in Heartbeat and Antony Costa, who shot to fame in boy band Blue.

Tickets for the show at Wolverhampton Grand Thearte are available via www.grandtheatre.co.uk or by calling 01902 429 212.

The play runs from July 3-8.
