A POPULAR wedding venue near Stourbridge is celebrating its own milestone anniversary after 25 years of being the venue to thousands of ceremonies.

The first ever wedding held at Blakelands Country House was in 1992 and they have been organising between 60 and 90 weddings a year ever since.

Not only are the owners Paul and Heather Morgan celebrating 25 years in the wedding business, but they have also had their busiest year to date, with a record number of weddings booked.

Heather said: “We are delighted to hit such a big milestone in our time here at Blakelands and want to thank all the couples that have got married here.

“Every wedding is very unique and special to us and we pride ourselves in ensuring that each couple get the wedding of their dreams.

“We give all of our brides one of our Bertie teddy bears and it’s amazing how many photos we get sent of Bertie on honeymoon and on future holidays with the couples – it’s like he becomes part of the family.”

The Halfpenny Green-based country house, which dates back to the 1500’s, has undergone major refurbishments over the past few years and has recently been granted a new civil wedding license for their Victorian Barn, making it one of the largest civil ceremony venues in the region.

Paul added: “We have invested a great deal in improving our wedding facilities and the appearance of our Victorian Barn and have been thrilled by the lovely comments we have received from our brides and grooms.

“We always try to tailor each wedding to the individual needs and budget of our couples and I think it is that flexibility and personal service that they really appreciate.”
