PRESTWOOD gardening fanatic Joyce Williams will once again be throwing open her doors to the public later this month.

Joyce will be opening her Westacres garden on Saturday July 22 and Sunday July 23 as part of the National Gardens Scheme.

The garden lovers' paradise, which extends to three quarters of an acre and boasts many different varieties of acers, hostas shrubs, a large Koi pool and woodland walk, will be open from 11am to 4pm on both days.

It will be the 11th year running that Westacres, situated off the A449, has featured in the scheme which supports a host of well-known charities.

Joyce said this time round the garden boasts a new Japanese style tea house where people can sit and take in the picturesque surroundings which are both dog-friendly and suitable for wheelchairs.

She said: "It's changed drastically since I started opening it - as it's matured and I've got more knowledgeable."

Homemade tea and cakes will be available on both days.

Entry to the garden is £4 for adults and free for children.

Money raised from admission fees will go to charities supported by the National Gardens Scheme.

To find out more about the open days go to www.ngs.org.uk or call Joyce on 01384 877496.

Proceeds from refreshments and the sale of plants will go to DEBRA to help people affected by rare skin condition Epidermolysis Bullosa which causes the skin to blister and tear at the slightest touch.
