A HEADTEACHER in Bromsgrove has defended the decision to change the design of school skirts, after parents accused the move of 'discriminating' against female students.

From the start of the new school year in September, girls at North Bromsgrove High School will be required to wear one of two skirts embroidered with the letter 'N', in an attempt to improve student's safety and prepare them for work.

THE finance director of a Lye firm has been jailed after pleading guilty to fraud.

Aimee Purchase, aged 36, of Hunter's Gate, Much Wenlock, Shropshire, who was employed as the finance director for MI Engineering Limited in Lye, admitted fraud by abuse of a position of trust and on Thursday (July 13) at Shrewsbury Crown Court she was sentenced to two years and eight months in prison.

POLICE are appealing for help locate a Redditch man who is wanted on recall to prison.

Martin Masters, aged 30, was released from HMP Hewell Prison in Redditch on 30 June 2017 after serving a total of eight weeks for an offence of racially aggravated harassment, alarm and distress and a second offence of using threatening, abusive, insulting words and behaviour.
