A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a body was found in a car outside a Black Country police station.

It’s understood a BMW pulled up outside West Bromwich Police Station in Moor Street at around 10.20am today (Thursday).

The body of a man was found in the front passenger seat and the 40-year-old driver arrested on suspicion of murder.

The station's front office was closed temporarily as the scene and the scene was cordoned off to preserve evidence.

Detective Inspector Harry Harrison, from the force’s homicide team, said: “A post mortem examination will take place in due course – but at this early stage we suspect the man died some time before the body was driven to West Bromwich.

“The driver has been arrested and we are examining CCTV and street cameras in a bid to piece together where the car had travelled from before arriving in West Bromwich.”
