A 60-YEAR-OLD Dudley man has been fined £400 for drink driving.

Jasvir Singh Rai, of Kinloch Drive, had 81mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath when he was caught behind the wheel in Dudley on August 12. The legal limit is 35mcgs.

He was disqualified from driving for 20 months and must pay a victim surcharge of £40 and £135 court costs.

Joanne Susan Handley, aged 42, of Chapel Street, Brierley Hill, was sent to prison for 19 weeks for being drunk and disorderly in Wolverhampton on January 27 and assaulting a police officer. She was also sentenced for stealing two pairs of shoes, worth £34.98, from New Look, Merry Hill, on April 27 and assaulting a police officer in Dudley. Handley also admitted assaulting a man and woman in Brierley Hill on April 27. She must pay £400 compensation.

Robert Cornelius Charles Wassell, aged 45, of Fens Crescent, Pensnett, was given a 12 month community order for failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis during the course of an investigation into whether he had committed an offence, in Pensnett on June 27. He was also sentenced for driving without a licence, insurance or MOT. He must carry out 150 hours unpaid work and pay a victim surcharge of £85 and £135 court costs. He was also disqualified from driving for 18 months.

Christopher William Shallow, aged 25, of Hill Top Avenue, Halesowen, was fined £162 for drink driving in Stourbridge on June 20. When tested, he had 75mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35mcgs. He was also sentenced for driving without a licence, insurance or MOT. Shallow was disqualified from driving for 20 months and must pay a victim surcharge of £30 and £500 court costs.

Sarfaraz Hussain, aged 30, of Himley Road, Dudley, was fined £700 for driving without due care and attention in Sandwell on July 2. He was also sentenced for driving without insurance and failing to stop when required to do so by a police officer in uniform. He was disqualified from driving for 18 months and must pay £100 compensation, a £30 victim surcharge and £150 court costs.

Lisa McLean, aged 50, of Mount Close, Lower Gornal, was given a 12 month community order for drink driving in Dudley on August 16. When tested, she had 96mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35mcgs. She was also sentenced for causing £150 worth of damage to a police vehicle. She was fined £200 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £85, compensation of £150 and £135 court costs. She was also disqualified from driving for two years.

Joseph Martin Arthurs, aged 26, of Whitethorn Road, Wordsley, was given a six week community order for drink driving in Dudley on July 18. When tested, he had 63mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35mcgs. He was also sentenced for causing damage to the vehicle, which was without the consent of the owner and driving without a licence or insurance. He was fined £240 and must pay a victim surcharge of £85 and £135 court costs. He was given a six week curfew and for the duration, must remain at his home address between 7pm and 7am. He was also disqualified from driving for 18 months.

Darren Matthew Shelley-Mellor, aged 40, of Pensnett Road, Dudley, was fined £370 for drink driving in Dudley on August 16. When tested he had 82mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35mcgs. He was also fined £240 for driving without insurance. He was disqualified from driving for 20 months and must pay a victim surcharge of £37 and £135 court costs.

Charles Neil Moore, aged 67, of Vicarage Prospect, Dudley, was sent to prison for 20 weeks, suspended for 18 months, for using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause another harassment, alarm or distress, in Dudley between March 23 and May 2. He was also sentenced for using threatening or abusive words or behaviour within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress in Dudley on July 31 and August 3. He must pay a victim surcharge of £115 and £775 court costs.

Zara Stacey Doherty, aged 31, of Wellington Road, Dudley, was given a 12 month community order for stealing items, worth £138.39, from shops in Solihull and Dudley on August 15 and 30. She must pay a victim surcharge of £85.

Daniel Alexander Williams, aged 56, of Brook Street, Dudley, was fined £200 for drink driving in Dudley on August 20. When tested, he had 86mcgs of alcohol in 100ml of breath. He was disqualified from driving for 21 months and must pay a victim surcharge of £30 and £135 court costs.

Connor Sean Green, aged 22, of Blackacre Road, Dudley, was sent to prison for six weeks for assaulting a woman in Dudley on July 8. He must pay £150 compensation.

Paul Graham Cross, aged 40, of High Street, Cradley Heath, was given an 18 month community order for stealing aftershave, worth £33, from Tesco, Cradley Heath, on August 20. He must pay a victim surcharge of £85.
