DUDLEY Town went crashing out of the FA Vase this week after being roundly beaten at The Dell.

Town’s worrying run of form continued as they were brushed aside 4-0 by Atherstone Town despite a spirited first half.

Kyle Turner headed home after just five minutes of the second half to put the visitors ahead, but the Adders turned up the pressure and Turner netted his second on 75 minutes.

Former Bromsgrove Sporting forward Luke Shorthouse added a third, before Turner completed his hat-trick right on the final whistle.

Town return to league action this Saturday with a trip to high-flying Malvern, but should take note of Tividale’s 4-0 drubbing of the Worcestershire outfit last week.

Gornal had a better time of it this week with a 6-2 win against fellow West Midlands League Division One strugglers Wyrley.

The victory, which was only Gornal's second this season, moves the side away from the drop zone and into 12th place.

They face a trip to Walsall to take on third placed Darlaston Town (1874) this Saturday.
