Paul Kilbride, headteacher at Old Swinford Hospital, said: “We're delighted with this year's GCSE results.

"The grades are a result of much hard work and commitment from pupils and teachers alike.

"Particularly pleasing is this year's Progress 8 score of 0.76 which means that the quality of our teaching has helped pupils to progress three quarters of a grade beyond expectations - this has helped secure some superb results.

"But beyond the scores, it's about our musicians, sportsmen, boarding prefects and young engineers who have kept their interests and enthusiasms up whilst coping with the challenges of the new GCSEs.”
