STOURBRIDGE'S Enville Street Dramatic Society is kicking off its 70th season with a production of black comedy The Ladykillers.

The play, which sees a sweet elderly lady - alone in her home - pitted against a gang of criminal misfits who will stop at nothing, promises to raise the roof at Amblecote's Holy Trinity Church Hall where it will run from Wednesday November 15 to Saturday November 18.

Founded in 1947 by members of Stourbridge's Enville Street Methodist Church - the society is still going strong and original member Neville Mole, now in his mid 90s, remains as dedicated as ever.

Mr Mole, a patron and co-opted committee member, starred in many shows in his younger years and he still attends as many performances as he can.

His late wife Beryl, late daughter Angela Thomas, and daughters Lin Stokes, Jayne Danks and Carey Esthop have appeared in numerous productions over the years, as have grandchildren Tom and Becky Dallaway and Sarah Thomas.

In fact - daughter Carey is set to star in the lead role of Mrs Wilberforce in The Ladykillers and Tom and Becky also have parts in the show.
