Dudley Sports were delighted to be back in action despite the disappointment of slipping to a 3-0 defeat.
Sports had seen their opening three pre-season friendlies postponed due to the weather so a tough game away at Southern Midland Premier Division outfit Malvern Town was always going to be a difficult proposition.
So it proved as the visitors got off to an understandably poor start to see themselves two-down after only five minutes.
They slowly found there feet and gave a good account of themselves even hitting the post when Ross Harris headed against the post early in the second half.
Dudley gave a debut to 16-year-old Chris Raybone who shone throughout as well as giving summer recruits Matt Taylor, Lee Loffe and Sean Jasper a run-out.
On August 25 the club will be holding an audience with Steve Bull at Stourbridge Town Hall.
Tickets cost £30 and includes a three course dinner .
