A POPULAR poet who knows how to pack a punch will be entertaining visitors to Stourbridge Library this weekend.
Birmingham Poet Laureate and professional boxer Matt Windle will be stepping out of the boxing ring and into the library this Saturday (March 17) to deliver a free poetry workshop with a Shakespearian twist.
Known as the 'poet with a punch', Matt will also be performing some of his own spoken word material and helping visitors to create their own poetic masterpieces.
Lynda Wattis, principal librarian at Stourbridge Library, said: “We are excited to welcome not only a three-time Poet Laureate but a talented local athlete.
"It is always a fantastic opportunity to hear and learn from a prolific writer and performer, but Matt’s unique profile will be sure to provide an extra hook.
“We urge everyone to give us a ring and book their place before the opening bell at 12.15pm on March 17."
To book a place at the event call Stourbridge Library on 01384 812947.
