OLDSWINFORD Cricket Club stalwart Ken Slater has written about the club's long and lively history.

Mr Slater has spent the past two years researching for his publication which is set to be launched at the club's headquarters in Albermale Road next Thursday, May 24 at 8pm.

The club, which was originally known as Oldswinford Saint Mary's CC was reformed after the second world war in 1948.

It has known several locations in the area before arriving at its present home in the mid 1980s.

It promises to be a fascinating read, not only for cricket followers, but to anyone interested in the town's rich history.
