VITAL volunteers who helped save Kinver Library from closure are set to stage a tea party next week so that visitors can meet the team.

The tea party, which takes place on Thursday, June 7, between 2 and 4pm as part of National Volunteer Week, when residents will be invited to take tea and indulge in some homemade cakes.

Kinver Library has been manned by volunteers since January 2017 helping to keep the service at the heart of the community.

Volunteer Ian Barrett, who is responsible for co-ordinating the team who run the library revealed:

"Since we became a community library, there has never been a shortage of volunteers eager to help out. The team has been steadily growing and we now have nearly 30 members.

"It's been a real pleasure to work with so many enthusiastic individuals, who have also become good friends".

Although Kinver Library is run by volunteers, it continues to develop a range of services, offering activities for both young and old, courses, exhibitions and special events throughout the year.
