STOURBRIDGE is set for the return of a group with a pedigree fit for any rock and roll hall of fame.

The Red Lemon Electric Blues Band built a huge fanbase in the '80s with their mix of R&B and soul which took them on tour with big names including Chuck Berry.

The Lemons will be back in action at Stourbridge Town Hall on Saturday September 29 for a legacy show spanning their 33 year history with a multitude of special guests.

Big Jim Merris will be on vocals with Louise Warren, who has been with the band since 2000, and the show will also feature current Climax Blues Band frontman Graham Dee.

Dee replaced Merris on lead vocals in 1993 and he has been invited to return to reprise his years with the band.

Red lemon drummer and founder member Neil Bullock said: "There were different eras of the band, the first band was a five piece but it expanded at various points.

"It is a legacy concert, people came in at various stages of our development, this is a reunion of the original band plus players that span Jim's period and Graham's."

The show certainly has a line up is packed with star quality connections, Bullock is an award-winning performer who has worked with big names including Beverly Knight, Deep Purple's Ian Paice, Kid Creole, Steve Gibbons, Chaka Khan and St Etienne.

Louise Warren featured in the Strictly Come Dancing Band and worked with Ringo Starr, Kenny Jones, Mike Rutherford, Peter Andre and Mica Paris.

The Red Lemon's legendary brass section is also littered with players that have a national reputation.

Bryan Corbett (trumpet) has Brand News Heavies, Ben E King and Alicia Dixon on his CV while saxophonist Chris Aldridge has played with the Climax Blues Band and Tony Christie.

Old friends of the Red Lemons, TV presenters Adrian Chiles and Suzi Perry, will also be on hand to introduce the band.
