A KINVER schoolgirl is grinning like a Cheshire Cat – after winning a regional photography award with pictures inspired by ‘Alice in Wonderland’.

Imogen Beddow, a Year 13 student at Kinver High School, has won the Rotary Young Photographer of the Year District Competition.

She took Lewis Carroll’s Alice books as her personal project theme, with her ‘Advice from a Caterpillar’ photo wowing judges.

Imogen, who is studying photography at A-Level, won Kinver Rotary Club’s Young Photographer of the Year competition and then went on to scoop the district award too.

Mrs Jarman, head of art at the school, said: “This is an excellent achievement for both Imogen and the art department at Kinver High School.

“I would like to thank Christopher Elcock for supporting me in the running of the competitions and Rotary president Clive Corbett for the presentation of the prizes.

“I would also like to specially thank Ellie Smith who was the perfect model to represent ‘Alice’.”
