THREE Kingswinford workers got on their bike to raise a wheely large amount of cash for charity through a colossal cycling challenge.

Jamie Coombs, Adrian Chadwick and John Sixsmith – all employees at office technology firm Altodigital – raised £1,555 by completing the 105-mile Aberdovey bike ride.

The money they raised will be split between three good causes – Wolverhampton charity Promise Dreams plus MacMillan Cancer Support and St Christopher’s Hospice.

It took the trio seven hours and 20 minutes to complete the endurance challenge – which included 1,475metres of climbing – as they set off at 6.45am and crossed the finish line at 4.15pm.

Altodigital have a longstanding relationship with Promise Dreams, regularly helping with fundraising efforts to support the organisation, which helps terminally-ill children by making one of their dreams come true.

Adrian and John had never ridden more than 100 miles before but Jamie said the thought of raising much-needed funds for the charities spurred all three riders on.

Jamie added: “There was an absolutely fantastic atmosphere on the day of the ride and we are proud to have been able to support our local charity of Promise Dreams once again, as well as two other great causes.

“It was definitely one of the most difficult challenges that we have taken on but the amount we have raised makes it so worthwhile.”
