THE borough’s museums are offering adult classes ranging from glass fusing to jewellery for people looking to try out something new.

The Adults at Museums programme is offering fun and creative activities at Wordsley’s Red House Glass Cone and Dudley Museum at the Archives.

As well as sessions focussing on glass and jewellery, there are also classes on needle felt, mosaic, pebble art, wreath making and wire work as well as mini courses for glass fusing and pottery.

For £30 per course, students can learn the fundamentals by attending three half-day sessions.

The pottery course runs from 10.30am to 12.30pm on Thursday September 20, Thursday October 18 and Thursday November 15.

Glass fusing sessions run from 10.30am to 12.30pm on Thursday September 27, Thursday October 25 and Thursday November 22.

Councillor Patrick Harley, leader of the council, said: “These sessions are an opportunity for individuals to learn a new skill, enjoy some ‘me’ time, make new friends and create something unique.

“Stourbridge is world famous for the glass making industry and courses like these help to keep the skills alive for future generations.”

Pre-booking activities is advised.
