ll roads will be leading to Royal Leamington Spa this Saturday as Stourbridge prepare for their biggest game in over 35 years.

The Glassboys progressed to the BGB Midlands Division One play-off final following their rain-drenched 1-0 win at home to Sutton Coldfield Town on Tuesday evening.

The club are now only 90 minutes away from playing league football in the BGB Premier Division and the one-off game is being talked up as the club's biggest game since their Welsh Cup Final against Cardiff City back in 1974.

Stourbridge boss Gary Hackett said his side would look forward' to the play off final and that it was fitting it would be between the second and third placed teams.

He said: "It should be a great final for all concerned- for the players to play in front of a large crowd in what is a cup final, and the loyal fans who have followed us home and away all season.

"The team and the fans have earned this chance of promotion, not least from the game on Tuesday where I thought we were deserved winners and showed a lot of composure to take the result."

The Glassboys have beaten the Warwickshire side three times already this season but Hackett said that would count for nothing in the final.

He said: "Form and results from throughout the season go out of the window when it comes to games like this. We will try and put everything surrounding those games out of our mind and concentrate on the task in hand because if we can play like we did against Sutton we will have a great chance, but we certainly need to be focussed."

A crowd well in excess of 1,000 is expected at the New Windmill and Hackett is encouraging the club's supporters as well as the people of Stourbridge to turn out in their droves clad in red and white to cheer on their home-town team.

He added: "The support this season had been brilliant and it will be great to see as many as possible at Leamington on Saturday.

"There is going to be a real big crowd there and I know the staff and the players are relishing the occasion.

"I urge not just our supporters but also people from Stourbridge to come down and enjoy what could be a real memorable day for this club."

Hackett is expecting Leon Broadhurst to have fully recovered from a blow to the face he suffered in the semi-final to take his place in the centre of midfield on Saturday (3pm kick-off).
