Russia with love

A TOURING lecturer has raised more than £13,000 for Russian street children after visiting groups in Bromley.

In just under a month, Rachael Hughes, originally from New Zealand, travelled across the UK, speaking to groups of all ages and sizes.

These included churches and school assemblies in Bromley, where she spoke about homeless children on the streets of Vladivostok.

Miss Hughes, who is part of the Bromley charity Aid to Russia and the Republics, will use the money to help set up a 'work farm' in Vladivostok.

At the farm, street children will be able to live with Christian houseparents and learn skills to help support themselves in the future.
