A Black Country author is looking forward to be signing copies at the launch of her new novel.
Nell Dixon from Gornal Wood, will be at Watertsones, Merry Hill on Saturday July 12, from noon, signing copies of her new book, Blue Remembered Heels.
Mother of three, Nell has always loved writing with her passion being for romance and has had a lot of help and advice from the Romance Novelists Association, who put her in the right direction to get her stories published.
Nell is excited to see her new book be published with Little Black Dress publishers, as this will be the first time she will have one of her books published by them.
Her earlier material have been published as e-books with an American publishers, Nell was also RNA Romance Prize Winner 2007, with her novel, Marrying Max.
She said: “Ever since I can remember I’ve loved stories and books, both reading and writing them.“Writing romance remains my first love and I write the kinds of stories that I love to read.
“I’m very excited to be writing for Little Black Dress and looking forward to my first book signing at Waterstones.”
Nell said the inspiration behind her new story came from a newspaper article she read, about a man who was hit by lighting.
She added: “I read an article in a newspaper about a man who was hit by lighting and when he came round he could speak fluent French, a language he had never learnt.
“The more research I did the more amazing it got, with the different stories from people who told me about the bizarre side effects from the strikes.”
Blue Remembered Heels is about a family of con artists, who make money by scamming people, Abbey the heroine gets hit by lighting and can’t tell lies anymore.
This makes things difficult as Abbey finds herself unable to lie to the detective Mike Flynn, who is hot on her trail.
