A YEAR after the country was devastated by floods, Dudley Council has issued new advice on coping with severe weather.
A leaflet giving tips on how to prepare when floods are forecast and how to deal with disaster when flooding happens is now available at libraries, council offices and hospitals.
The advice comes following the publication of a government report on the 2007 washout by Sir Michael Pitt, which says councils should play a major part in dealing with floods.
Cllr David Caunt, leader of Dudley Council, said: “While the risk of flooding may not always be high on the agenda in Dudley, it is important we know how to react to all severe weather conditions.”
