A QUARRY Bank business is celebrating 100 years of business that is still growing despite the credit crunch.
Bird Stevens Limited, of Sun Road, specialises in protecting steel products through their speciality of ‘hot-dipping’ within their on site galvanising facility.
Managing director Steve Ruston said: “We are continuing to secure business for our services following the economic downturn, with several of our competitors in the UK being forced to close.”
The company believes its traditional and straightforward approach has been the key to its success.
Stourbridge MP Lynda Waltho congratulated the firm on its longevity, saying: “It is fantastic to see a manufacturing company doing so well during the current climate.
“It is important for the West Midlands to see manufacturers thriving, and to raise morale across this sector.”
