Virgin to cut 322 Brierley Hill jobs

BRIERLEY Hill workers are reeling after Virgin Media announced plans to axe 322 customer service jobs at its Waterfront centre.

The company says the cuts are part of a scheme which includes the creation of 150 new jobs at Merry Hill for staff supporting field engineers.

A consultation process has begun on the proposal which is part of the company’s restructuring proposals announced last November.

Neil Berkett, CEO of Virgin Media, said: “Although this is a difficult message for our staff, we felt it only right to share our plans with them as soon as they were finalised.

“As part of these proposals, there are a number of redeployment opportunities and our priority now is to support our people, whilst minimising the need for redundancies wherever possible.”

They cut their black country staff and have given their jobs to India. That little detail has failed to come out in the local press.

Expect Virgin Media customer service to get even more infuriating that you previously thought!
