A SPECIAL meeting of Brierley Hill Area Committee has been organised to enable glass campaigners to have their say over the future of Broadfield House Glass Museum.
It will be held at Wordsley Community Centre at The Green, on Thursday July 23 - starting at 7pm.
Councillor Patrick Harley will be chairing the meeting - which has been called to give all interested groups and members of the public the chance to have their say on Dudley Council’s plans to close Broadfield and move the glass collection to Wordsley’s Red House Glass Cone.
Cllr Harley said: “I shall invite elected members to speak but after we have ensured the general public have had their say and expressed opinion.”
Meanwhile Dudley Council has confirmed the former Stuart Crystal shop at the Red House Glass Cone site has been put up for sale.
The factory shop closed in May after owners Waterford Wedgewood went into administration.
Dudley Council - however - has stressed it’s business as usual at the cone, which has a secure 99-year tenancy agreement.
