A GROUP of enterprising students are taking action to bring a new dimension to nightlife for young Stourbridge people.
Inter College Events (ICE) is the brainchild of Robert Shropshire, Matthew Hale and Matthew Perry who host themed parties in top venues for people aged 15 to 21.
The ICE idea is to reach out beyond the boundaries of individual A level colleges and sixth forms to provide organised events for an age group which they say suffers from a lack of night life.
The group uses the social networking website Facebook to publicise their parties, which are already attracting crowds of around 500, they also hold online votes to set themes for future events.
Robert, aged 17, said: “When we were going out there was nowhere to go, this gives everyone an opportunity to be involved.”
The next ICE event is at the Maya Bar, Waterfront, Brierley Hill, on Wednesday July 8, from 9pm to 2am.
The event will have an armed forces theme and dress code, prizes will be on offer in a range of categories.
