STOURBRIDGE Fire Station threw open its doors to the public to help hammer community safety messages home.
The Mayor of Dudley, Councillor Pat Martin, and Stourbridge MP Lynda Waltho attended the event at the Parkfield Road fire station on Friday September 25 along with Dudley councillors and a host of community groups including the Young Firefighters Association.
Visitors were taken on tours around Calamity Cottage - the station’s mock house packed full of potential fire hazards.
There was also plenty of fire safety advice on offer and a host of displays - which included firefighters staging a mock car crash rescue.
Mayor of Dudley - Cllr Pat Martin - said: “It was a brilliant day, it’s so worthwhile doing these things. It was very well put on. They do a magnificent job, I don’t know how they do it.”
