MEMBERS of the older generation gathered in Stourbridge for the start of a new group dedicated to sharing skills.
Around 220 people paid a visit to the launch of the University of the Third Age (u3a) at the Methodist Church, New Road, on January 20.
The meeting voted to establish a new group in the town which will allow members to share their knowledge in interest groups on a range of subjects including gardening, genealogy, art and craft, music, painting and languages.
The group in Stourbridge will be formally constituted and affiliated to the national u3a organisation, an inaugural meeting for members’ enrolment will be held, also at the New Road church, on Thursday February 17 at 2pm.
The meeting will be open to anyone who is retired and semi-retired, for more information on the work of u3a visit www.u3a.org.uk.
