A STOURBRIDGE man who tried to rub heroin into a carpet with his foot during a police raid has been jailed.
The officers, who charged into the house in Scotts Road, also seized 11 wraps of heroin, £275 in cash and drug dealing paraphernalia including a set of digital scales.
Timothy Roberts was immediately arrested and when questioned he told police he usually sold the controlled drug to a close circle of friends to fund his own addiction.
The 37-year-old was bailed and just over two months later he was seen acting suspiciously in Stourbridge and, when searched, he was found to be carrying eight wraps of heroin.
At Wolverhampton Crown Court, Roberts, now living in High Street, Lye, admitted two charges of possessing heroin with intent to supply.
He was told by Recorder Myles Watkins he was to be jailed for 20 month because only a prison term was appropriate for the offences.
He said Roberts had a "significant criminal history" and added: "You were found in possession of these wraps of heroin and you were going to supply to fund your own habit."
The recorder went on: "The drugs were not of a significant weight but, nevertheless, these are still very serious matters indeed."
Benjamin Close, for Roberts, said his client had serious medical problems had been making progress in his bid to resolve his drug habit before he relapsed.
