BIG-HEARTED mums got busy baking and held a cake sale and coffee morning to raise cash to help premature babies.
Members of Dudley Borough Bliss Family Group, which supports families of premature babies, held the event at Poppyfields Kindergarten at Crestwood Park Primary School in Kingswinford as part of national charity Bliss’s Cake a Difference initiative running from February 6 to 12 .
Rebecca Cottingham from Pensnett was among the organisers - having become a parent rep for the group after her son Elijah was born in December 2007 at 25 weeks, weighing just 1lb 15oz.
She said: “So many people have helped out and donated cakes and we've had so much support from Bliss.”
She said £161 was raised at the cake sale and further donations were still coming in this week - adding: “We are hoping to raise as much as possible for Bliss.”
The Dudley Bliss group meets on the second Saturday of each month at Stourbridge Children’s Centre.
