DUDLEY Council’s gritting team are preparing for snow fall overnight, in a bid to keep the borough’s roads moving.
The authority has also set up a dedicated page on the council’s website informing people of any winter related services such as gritting, ahead of expected snowfall tonight (Thursday).
It also includes any work affected by snowfall such as school closures, bin collections and services for elderly and vulnerable people.
Councillor Les Jones, leader of Dudley Council, said: “We have brought all the information people may need during any snow and ice into one place. It’s about making it accessible to everyone so they can make informed decisions during the severe weather.”
And a 40-strong gritting team, at Lister Road, is currently monitoring the ongoing weather situation and if needed will work around the clock to keep more than 470 kilometres of road clear during severe weather.
The council’s winter services page can be found at dudley.gov.uk and will be updated throughout the snow.
Updates will also be posted via the council’s @dudleymbc twitter feed and the ‘Dudley borough’ facebook page.
