A TALK on cameo glass by expert Graham Fisher enticed around 120 people out on a bitterly cold Thursday evening.
The event held last night (February 9) at Wordsley Green Community Centre was hosted by Wordsley History Society and saw eminent Black Country historians, an international artist and several glassmakers and retired glass artists turn out.
No doubt an ongoing attempt by Stourbridge glassmakers to recreate the most famous piece of cameo glass ever made - The Portland Vase - has increased interest in the subject in a year that will see Stourbridge celebrating 400 years of glassmaking.
Mr Fisher's next talk on cameo glass will be at Sutton Coldfield Antiques Centre at 7.30pm on Monday February 13. He'll also be speaking about the work of the British Glass Foundation at Baggeridge Social Club, The Straits, at 10am on Tuesday February 14.
