A STOURBRIDGE martial arts instructor who has coached cage fighter turned Celebrity Big Brother winner Alex Reid is set to realise his dream of opening his own fight school.

Former cage fighting competitor Ryan Norwood, who has taught at kung fu clubs across the borough, is opening his own Fury Fight School above Shipley’s Amusements in Stourbridge High Street.

AMNA mixed martial arts light-weight champion Wayne Drake will be giving demonstrations at the launch taking place this Saturday (April 21) from midday till 2pm which will also include a raffle and children’s games.

Ryan, aged 33, said: “I’ve grown up in Stourbridge and always wanted to put something back into the community so I’ve taken the plunge to open my own place. I’ve wanted to do this since I was 17 and first started teaching at the Crystal Leisure Centre.”

As well as coaching fellow cagefighter turned reality star Alex Reid, who was briefly married to glamour model Jordan, Ryan has also trained with Keysi Fighting Method co-founder Andy Norman, whose dynamic moves have featured in fight scenes in a string of Hollywood action flicks.
