ADULT Learners’ Week kicks off in the Dudley borough next week with a variety of workshops and events to show how learning can inspire people and help change their lives.

The week of learning gets under way on Monday May 14 with a workshop devoted to learning about new technology and shows the basics of digital cameras, tablet computers and e-readers.

Other workshops during the week include Zumba workouts, hand and head massage and colour co-ordination therapy as well as a variety of arts and crafts workshops with resin brooches, flower arranging and mixed media art.

Adult Learners’ Week runs from 12 to 18 May and workshops take place in neighbourhood learning centres, libraries and other community venues across the borough.

Ros Partridge, head of service for Adult and Community Learning, said: “Adult Learners’ Week is always a great opportunity to try out one of our free workshops and get a taste for adult learning. We try to make learning fun and help people to learn new skills and gain in confidence.”
