4:00pm Monday 28th May 2012 in News
BOROUGH churches will be marking the Queen’s 60 years on the throne with a host of activities this Bank Holiday weekend.
Events planned at churches across the Diocese of Worcester include a Jubilee Thanksgiving Service at Christ Church, Quarry Bank, on Sunday June 3 at 10.30am - followed by a bring and share Jubilee Lunch and chance to watch the Royal Flotilla making progress down the Thames.
A thanksgiving service will be held outside St Michael’s, Brierley Hill, on Monday June 4 at 9pm and a Jubilee Beacon will be lit.
There will also be a community celebration in Pedmore on Tuesday June 5 from 2pm at the cricket field, the club house, St Peter’s Centre and in the church. Activities will include face-painting, jubilee banner making and a paper aeroplane fly-past led by the vicar. There will also be cream teas and a brass band.
