A TALENTED young Dudley dancer is on a desperate hunt for her very own Billy Elliot to enable her to continue her strictly come dancing dream.

Eight-year-old Eliza Lewis, who attends Time Step Dance Studio, has been dancing since she was three years old attending cheerleading, ballet, tap, Latin American, ballroom and street dancing classes.

But the youngster, who is the daughter of Dudley Zoo’s head keepers, Matt and Lesley Lewis, has now been told she can’t progress any further in her Latin American classes without a male partner.

And without any boys in her class to dance with, Eliza, a pupil at Cotwall End Primary School, is now on the hunt for a similar aged boy to partner to competition level with her sights set on a contest in September.

Vicky Parkinson, Principal of Time Step Studio, which is based below Plaza Malls in the town centre, said: “Eliza is progressing really, really quickly and I would love to put her in for competitions, but we don’t have a boy for her to partner with.

“We don’t have any boys in the class and have quite a few girls who will need male dance partners.

“I am hoping to be able to put some couples forward for a competition at Cradley Heath Leisure Centre in September, so we are desperately hoping to find some boys to join us.”

The classes, which are suitable for dancers aged from six to 17 years-old are free and take place on Wednesdays at 5pm.
