SIX gutsy staff from QualitySolicitors Talbots in Stourbridge have raised around £3,000 for children with disabilities after completing a gruelling 100-mile bike ride from Wolverhampton to Wales.

Ben Reid, Peter Hill, Martyn Morgan, James Gwilliams, Andrew Wakeman and Liz Colesby were among 500 riders taking part in the Aberdovey Bike Ride, an annual charity fundraising event organised by West Midlands Police to help boost a host of good causes.

Weather conditions this time round were the worst since the event began back in 1993, but the undeterred Talbots team carried on regardless and managed to successfully complete the arduous ride from Wolverhampton to the Welsh seaside town of Aberdovey.

Senior partner Martyn Morgan said: "This was such a great achievement. Four of the team had not been on a bike since childhood - quite literally."

The money raised by the team will go to the Stourbridge based Chris Westwood Charity for Children with Physical Disabilities.

Mr Morgan, a trustee of the charity, added: "We are so grateful that our efforts are recognised by the kind sponsorship of our supporters."

Anyone still wishing to make a donation to help boost the team's sponsorship total, in aid of the Chris Westwood Charity, can do so by visiting website www.sponsor-me.org/talbotsride
