A CHARITY car wash held at Brierley Hill Fire Station raised £350 for the national Fire Fighters Charity and Black Country Foodbank.

Blue Watch Commander Nick Lacey thanked generous members of the public who supported the event held on Sunday July 29.

He said: “On behalf of all the firefighters at Brierley Hill Community Fire Station I want to thank members of the public for their generosity, especially in such challenging and uncertain economic times. £350 is a terrific amount. We are so grateful and I know that the money will be used wisely."

The money raised will help the Fire Fighters Charity to continue to support serving and retired fire service employees and their families by providing recuperative care, rehabilitation, therapy and financial help to those who need it.

The donation to the Black Country Foodbank will enable the charity to continue to help vulnerable individuals and families in crisis through the provision of emergency food supplies.
