Family volunteers sought to help build Kinver Edge play trail
6:00pm Thursday 2nd August 2012 in News
NATIONAL Trust staff and volunteers are keeping busy this summer building a natural play trail around Kinver Edge.
Designed by children from Brindley Heath Junior School in Kinver and St Mary’s Primary School in Kingswinford - the trail includes a storytelling area with a giant storytelling chair, a den building area and a more adventurous play area with hurdles, a seesaw and balance bars.
Families are invited to become volunteers and help out with building work every Wednesday during August. Volunteering sessions run from 10am to noon and from 1pm to 3pm. No previous experience is required.
Edwin Blunt, ranger at Kinver Edge, said: “We’re really excited about the new trail, the local kids have come up with some fantastic designs and these volunteering days are a great opportunity for people to get involved in work on the Edge.”
The new play trail is due to be launched and officially open to the public on September 15.
Anyone interested in taking part in the family volunteering sessions can book a place by calling Laura Broadhurst on 07920 181605 or emailing laura.broadhurst@nationaltrust.org.uk
