A KINGSWINFORD man is celebrating after being named site manager of the year.

Glynne Garratt, who is working on David Wilson Homes’ Brecon View in Gornal, was given the accolade in the Mercia division’s Site Manager of the Year contest.

The prestigious award is the second this year for the 50-year-old, who won a Quality Award at the National House Building Council’s (NHBC) Pride in the Job Awards in June.

Glynne said: “After winning the NHBC Quality Award, I didn’t think that things could get much better, so it is amazing to have won this additional award, which rates me as having the best site in the Mercia division this year.

“Of course, it isn’t just me; the whole team on site here in Gornal work extremely hard. It’s great to be recognised for the effort put into the construction of these high quality homes and I would like to say thank you to all the guys here.”

Andy Peters, managing director for David Wilson Mercia, said: “These awards show the high level of professionalism and expertise that Glynne has delivered and I would like to say a big well done to him.”
