ACTION Heart has opened its first charity shop in a bid to boost the fundraising coffers.

The shop, which opened at the beginning of August is situated in Pensnett High Street and is raising money for the Cardiac Rehabilitation Service, which is based in Russells Hall Hospital directly opposite.

The shop will sells clothing and bric-a-brac is open Monday to Thursday from 10am until 3pm until September 3, when the hours will be increased from 9am until 4pm, Monday to Friday.

Joy Brown, Action Heart Fundraising Executive, said: “This is a completely new venture for Action Heart as we have never had a charity shop before but it is making a good start.”

Donations can be dropped into the shop during opening hours, while patients are volunteering their help to run it.
