POPULAR children’s character, Peppa Pig, helped raise £500 for a borough blind charity.

Sedgley ’s Beacon Centre for the Blind held a fundraising family fun day featuring tombolas, games and stalls in a bid to boost funds towards its continuing work supporting blind and partially sighted residents from across the borough.

Young visitors were also able to meet Peppa Pig and have their faces painted, as well as trying their luck on a portable bowling lane supplied courtesy of Bowlplex in Dudley.

Kelly Vickers, from the Wolverhampton East Road centre, said: “The day was a great success.”
