Stallings Lane, Kingswinford, to re-open tomorrow

WORK on the sewage system in Stallings Lane, Kingswinford, is running on time with the road set to fully reopen tomorrow (Sunday September 2).

The road closure, which has affected parts of Stallings Lane and Ham Lane during the school holidays, will be lifted from tomorrow but work in the area will continue.

Severn Trent Water and Enterprise are working on the sewage system to help reduce the risk of flooding.

Dudley Council is co-ordinating the works, which will see the replacement of water pipes from South Staffordshire Water, IWS and Enterprise to reduce leakage and ensure the ongoing supply of high quality, safe drinking water for residents.

Councillor Judy Foster, Dudley’s cabinet member for transportation, said: “By programming the works to take place all at the same time over the quieter summer months the council has helped to prevent the need for any separate road works enabling completion in a shorter time.

“I’m delighted things are running on time and that we are able to reopen the roads on Sunday.

“I would like to thank businesses, residents and visitors for their patience while this work has been undertaken and apologise for any inconvenience this critical work may have caused.”
